Advances in Anticancer Drug Toxicology

Anticancer drugs, while targeting cancer cells, can cause significant toxicity to healthy tissues. Understanding the toxicological profiles of these drugs is critical for balancing efficacy and safety. Advances in personalized medicine, pharmacogenomics, and targeted therapies are reducing toxic side effects. Research into minimizing cardiotoxicity, hepatotoxicity, and neurotoxicity is improving the tolerability of anticancer treatments. Novel drug delivery systems, such as nanoparticles, are also helping to reduce off-target effects.
